How I cleared my skin in 1 month using 1 product

How I cleared my skin in one month

Hi Everyone. I’m back with another blog post and this time it’s all about my skin and specifically how I cleared it within 1 month using just 1 product!

I have always suffered with problem skin for as far back as I remember. It’s not an easy subject for me to speak about so I will keep this post fairly succinct and to the point but maybe it is something I will go into my detail with in the future when I’m finally in a happier place with my skin.

After suffering with really bad acne for most of my teenage years and going on every single treatment under the sun (roacutane, microdermabrasion, laser treatment, obaji, peels etc.) and using every single product available (acids, antibiotics, clearasil etc.) when I hit my mid 20s it started to settle down and I would just get the occasional spot here and there, at this point I was using La Roche Posay products as recommended by a doctor and I would swear by these as my skin had never been better.

Unfortunately last year during lockdown for some reason still unknown to me my skin decided to flare up and regress to how it used to be in my late teens/early 20s. I didn’t know what had caused it, whether it was stress or hormones or change in diet I still to this day don’t entirely know but it was really bad and it affected my confidence massively. Luckily it came at a time when I wasn’t seeing anyone or going anywhere! Which in hindsight was a blessing in disguise.

Naturally I did some research and as a result I changed up my skincare routine and started using a lot of products aimed at acne prone skin which were all basically strong acids (hyaluronic, lactic and niamicide) and I was using them all together in a desperate attempt to clear my skin. Nothing worked and in hindsight I think they actually angered it and made it worse.

Fast forward a few months, at my wit’s end and still suffering with a never ending barrage of spots I saw an advert for a product called ‘Acnecide’. I did some research on it and saw it was basically a medical grade cream called ‘benozyl peroxide’ which is said to ‘kill the bacteria which causes spots’. I saw you could buy it from online pharmacies and even eBay and it was so inexpensive at around £8, so I decided to give it a a go using it twice daily as directed and using no other products at all, and within a few days I saw massive improvements!

I will warn you it is quite drying and leaves your skin very flakey and slightly sore, sort of similar to a sunburn, but using with a sensitive moisturiser it was absolutely fine. It literally dried my spots up within days and for the first time in 6 months I even stopped developing new ones. It really is a miracle product!

I have been using it for about 1 month now and with no other skincare products, except a sensitive moisturiser (Cerave) once every couple of days, and my skin has stopped breaking out. I still get the odd spot but I’ve always had that issue so I’m not too concerned about that but for me this product has changed my life and finally cleared my relentless acne.

My skin is by no means perfect and it never will be! But this is a significant improvement in just one month using solely one product.

It was difficult to share this but I really wanted to in case any of you are suffering with the same problem. Seriously give this product a go and hopefully it works just as well for you!

Please comment below if you have also suffered with acne and which products worked for you or if you have tried benozyl peroxide!

Hair Journey

Hair Journey

Hi Everyone!

Once again I have been MIA for the best part of a year but I am back and I am going to start posting consistently again! I am going to start with a different sort of post to my usual nails/fashion content as this one is going to be talking you through my hair journey!

Hair 4 years ago

Let’s start at the beginning! I have always been lucky in that I have had really naturally long and thick hair as you can see from the picture above taken around 4 or 5 years ago. I never took the best care of my hair and in a way took it for granted but still it remained really healthy and continued to grow really rapidly. I washed it every single day (mental!) and used heat on it daily, I box dyed it and generally didn’t take care of it at all and probably got it cut once or twice a year, but still it was in the best condition it’s ever been in, annoying right?! I would kill for hair like this now and wish I didn’t take it for granted as much as I did.

Balayage hair: around 3 years ago

Fast forward a couple of years like most girls I began getting bored of my one-toned brown hair and decided to get some blonde put in. I got balayage done by the hairdresser and had to get quite a lot trimmed off at the same time because the bleach had caused some damage so after this my hair was in quite good condition still but just a lot shorter.

Bleached hair: around 18 months ago

As you may know if you have highlights or balayage it can get quite addictive and you want to keep adding more and more blonde to your hair, this was me. And after 2 years of getting balayage done higher and higher and with more and more bleach I ended up with completely blonde hair which was never my initial plan!

I hadn’t realised at the time but my hair had become really quite damaged, as you can see from the pictures above, and had started to actually snap off. I remember the last time I got it bleached I asked my hairdresser to ‘make it as light as possible’, despite her advice not to, and so she added a lot more bleach and I remember clumps literally falling out as she combed it after bleaching it – it was horrifying! I remember after this my hair was in such a bad state and was just breaking off whenever I brushed it and I didn’t dare use any heat on it. I was really down about my hair and it really affected my confidence as obviously I had went from long thick healthy hair to this dry damaged short hair that I couldn’t really style or do anything with. This was when I decided I needed to get rid of the bleach entirely and start fresh with my hair.

Brown hair: July 2019

In July 2019 I decided to take the plunge and see a different hairdresser and get it dyed back brown in the hope it would make it healthier. Instantly my hair looked soo much healthier and had more life to it but the hairdresser made me get a good couple of inches of the dead split ends taken off so I felt even more disheartened and upset and didn’t feel myself as this was the shortest my hair had ever been in my life. I know it sounds so silly but hair really is a huge thing to a lot of women and can be the difference between feeling great about yourself or feeling rubbish!

From this point on I really started to consciously take better care of my hair. I started washing it every 3 days instead of every 1 or 2 and I started using masks and conditioning sprays. I stopped using straighteners entirely (still haven’t touched them a year and a half later!) and I dried my hair for only 5 mins when it was 90% dry. I got regular hair cuts every 8 weeks which at the time seemed so counter-productive as every time my hair grew a little bit I’d get the ends cut off and be back to square one. But I had so many split ends from the bleach damage I needed to get it cut regularly in order to get my hair to much better place. Unfortunately split ends can’t be repaired they need to be removed before they travel further up your hair strand. so although at the time I thought it was just taking me back to where I started, I see now how important those regular cuts were in order to get my hair back to a much healthier place.

I started to see a difference quite quickly and now I swear by these 3 products:

Milk Shake Incredible Milk
Redken Exteme Anti-Snap
Olaplex No.3

I have tried quite a few different products over the months in the mission to make my hair healthier and start to grow again but these 3 are definitely the best! Milk Shake Incredible Milk is a leave in conditioning spray with 12 different effects including heat protection, adding smoothness and shine, works as a leave in conditioner and also helps reduce breakage. And the best part is it leaves your hair smelling like vanilla milkshake! It is quite expensive at around £15 but the bottle lasts ages and it is so worth it!

Redken Exteme Anti-Snap is my next holy grail product. This does exactly what it says on the bottle, when applied to wet hair it helps to reduce breakage and prevent split ends and I have really started to notice the difference in my hair since using this! Again it is a bit pricier at around £15 but it really does work and the bottle is huge and will last ages as you only need to use it sparingly.

The third and final product which I am sure you are all aware of is the Olaplex no.3. The Olplaex range is usually used by hairdressers and salons and I can see why! This claims to repair and strengthen all hair types and I can confirm it really does! I use this as a mask once or twice a week and I will sleep in it before washing it off on a morning and my hair instantly feels healthier and even thicker. You can use it for as little as 10 minutes or you can leave it on for a few hours like I do. This again (sorry!) is pricey at around £25 but honestly it is beyond worth it and as you are using it on wet hair a little goes a long way.

I also take biotin supplements daily which I also think has contributed to my hair growth as well!

Before and after: 18 months difference
Before and after: 15 months difference

Fast forward 18 months and I think you will agree the before and afters are really quite amazing! This is by no means a quick fix and hair takes a long time to repair and grow after bleach damage but give it time and you will get there! My hair is by no means as long as it once was or even as healthy but it’s slowly getting there and I’m so happy with how it looks and feels right now after months of being so down about it!

Last visit to the Hairdressers: Dec 2020
My hair now! : January 2021

And despite bleach almost ruining my hair I really can’t resist a few highlights so I now get a few natural warm highlights through my hair to add a bit of dimension but I will never become a bleach addict again!

So my top tips for getting healthier/longer hair are:

  1. Stop using heat on your hair, or if you do need to, make sure you use a heat protectant spray and limit the amount of heat you do use e.g. only use a hairdryer when hair is 90% dry.
  2. Get regular haircuts. It may seem so counter-productive at the time but trust me it really helps!
  3. Take biotin supplements, I have definitely noticed a difference since taking these and they are so cheap and easy to get hold of.
  4. Try sleeping in hair masks once or twice a week. I really recommend Olaplex no.3 or for a cheaper alternative the Garnier Hair Foods masks are great and smell incredible!
  5. Stop over-bleaching your hair! it is sooo damaging and sometimes it’s irreversible.
  6. Silk pillows, I switched a year or so ago and they really do help your hair to not get knotty whilst you sleep and help to reduce hair breakage.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my hair transfomration and have hopefully taken some advice or tips from it!

I have recently started using the Bondi Boost hair growth shampoo and conditioner so I will keep you updated with whether or not that works!

Which nails Next?

Hey guys! It’s been a while! After taking a few years off posting I have decided to return to my blog and start showing you all my favourite nail polishes and makeup.

First up one thing I have been LOVING recently is the nail polishes from Next. I know I was shocked too, who’d have thought Next made such great nail varnishes? Next are primarily known as a fashion retailer but apparently they make amazing makeup including some beautiful nail varnishes!

A selection of some of Next’s nail varnishes

I bought a handful to try (above) and I am going to show you my three favourites in the post all of which are from the ‘glitter effect’ range. The other effect I bought to try was the ‘pearl effect’ which I will show you in a later post.

All of the following swatches are shown on false nails with a base polish and Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat.

First up is Daredevil. This is a stunning holographic purple glitter polish with flecks of silver and pink. I used this over a purple base but it wasn’t really needed as this polish is really buildable. I used 3 coats of the glitter polish to create this look. I absolutely love this polish it is so stunning and you would never think it was from Next!

Next ‘Glitter Effect’ polish in Daredevil

Next up is Girl Boss. This may be my favourite out of the 3 and I chose it for my Christmas nails as it is just perfect for the festive season! This is an absolutely stunning holographic gold glitter polish with flecks of silver. Again I used 3 coats of the polish over a gold base but it wasn’t really needed as the glitter was so buildable. I took a picture with and without flash to show just how amazing this polish is.

Next ‘Glitter Effect’ polish in Girl Boss
Girl Boss without flash
Girl Boss with flash

And lastly the polish I have on currently is Funky Town which is again from the ‘glitter effect’ range.

This is a gorgeous pinky red glitter polish. And although it’s not a holographic polish like the other two it is equally as stunning. Again I used 3 coats of this over a base and finished with Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat.

Next ‘Glitter Effect’ polish in Funky Town

As you can see these 3 ‘glitter effect’ polishes from Next are amazing. These polishes have to be some of the best I’ve used and even rival Barry M, China Glaze and other well known nail varnish brands. They retail at £4 but are always on 3 for 2. You can purchase them online here: https://www.next.co.uk/style/st249403?itm=882557#882557 or in store.

Thank you for reading!!

Mermaid Inspired Nails

mermaid1

Hi Guys! Today’s post is a Mermaid Inspired nail look I created this week just using  2 different nail varnishes. I got the inspiration for this nail look from a makeup bag I bought from H&M recently, so if you’re interested in seeing how I created this look, carry on reading!

mermaid6

Kiko Nail Lacquer in the Shade 48

The first thing I did was paint all my nails with two coats of Kiko’s Nail Lacquer in the shade: 48. This is a very bright pastel lilac shade and is completely opaque in just two thin coats. I absolutely love Kiko’s nail varnishes, they are amazing quality for the price and they do hundreds of different shades, so definitely check them out if you have a store near you!

nyw

Cuccio Colour in Illumination

I then topped the lilac nail varnish with one coat of this absolutely stunning top coat from Cuccio in the shade Illumination. This is a gorgeous pearlescent  top coat with holographic blue glitter pieces from their ‘Best Night Ever’ collection. This varnish reminds me of mermaid/fish scales and is just so unique and unlike any other polish I’ve ever tried. Check it out at Nails Direct here. I featured this polish in my recent Christmas/NYE Nail Haul along with some other glittery topcoats perfect for special occasions, so check that out!  I of course set my nails in place, and added more shine, using my Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat.

mermaid3

The Finished Look!

And this was the finished look! I absolutely love how this nail look turned out and it matches the makeup bag perfectly. I think the purple base really complements the blue/pearl effect top coat and helps create the very mermaid-esque/fish scale look.

mermaid2

My Inspiration: Makeup Bag from H&M

And this is the finished ‘Mermaid’ nails with the H&M makeup bag which first inspired me to create them. I am loving all things iridescent at the moment and  I think these nails match the bag perfectly!

And that’s the finished Mermaid Inspired nail look. Let me know what you think in the comments below and I will see you in my next post!

Mini Barry M Haul: Ft. New Spring Gelly Shades

barrym 7

Hi Guys! I recently went to Boots on the hunt for the new Barry M Spring/Summer Gelly shades but I only managed to find 3 out of the 4, but as it was 2 for £6 I picked up a fourth Barry M polish from their Speedy range so I thought it would be a good idea to show you which 4 polishes I bought and also a look at 3 of the new Gelly shades. So if you’re interested in seeing my Mini Barry M Haul, carry on reading!

barrym3

Barry M Gelly in Butterscotch Sundae

The first Barry M Gelly polish from their new Spring/Summer range I picked up was the shade Butterscotch Sundae, which as the name suggests is a gorgeous beige toned nude. I absolutely love this shade and I think it will look gorgeous with a tan or on warmer skin tones. It is quite similar to their shade ‘Lychee’ but it is more brown toned than grey.

barrym4

Barry M Gelly in Acai Smoothie

The next new shade from Barry M’s Spring/Summer ’16 range is this gorgeous dusky  pink in the shade Acai Smoothie. This type of colour is one I would usually go for as I love muted pink shades so I am very excited to try this out! This shade is quite similar to Sugar Plum which was released lat year but it slightly more purple toned so if you love that shade you’ll love this!

barrym3

Barry M Gelly in Cream Soda

The final new Gelly shade I was able to get was Cream Soda which is a very muted creamy nude shade which is going to be absolutely perfect for spring/summer as a bright/fresh nail varnish. This is quite similar to Cotton but more yellow/cream toned than a pure white.

barrym2

L-R: Cream Soda, Acai Smoothie & Butterscotch Sundae

And these are swatches of the 3 new Gelly shades together! The shade I was unable to get hold of was the shade Pink Lemonade which is a very pale subtle pink shade but I will continue to look out for it. As it was 2 for £6 I decided to pick up fourth polish anyway so decided to go with one from Barry M’s Speedy range.

barrym6

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry in Stop the Clock

The Speedy shade I decided to go with is another spring inspired nude colour in the shade Stop the Clock. This is a gorgeous pale, pastel yellow shade which is unlike any other colour I currently have so I am happy to add this to my collection!

barrym1

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry in Stop the Clock

And this is how Stop the Clock looks! I absolutely love all these 4 shades and I think they are all perfect for Spring. Barry M have created yet another gorgeous range of Gelly shades and I can’t wait to get my hands on Pink Lemonade!

Let me know in the comments which is your favourite shade and I will see you in my next post!

January Favourites:POPmodblog

jan7

Hi Guys! I’m back today with a Favourites post featuring all the things I’ve been loving throughout the month of January, so if you’re interested in seeing what products I’ve been loving, keep reading!

jan9

Ciate Mini Manor Advent Calendar

The first thing I’ve been loving is technically a December favourite, as it is this Ciate advent calendar, but I have been using a few of these polishes throughout January so thought i’d mention it! I have had my eye on these calendars for the past couple of Christmases but didn’t know if I could justify the £50 price tag, but this Christmas I decided to treat myself and buy one, and they are more than worth the money as you get: 24 Ciate products including a selection of their newest shades in miniature size, nail treatments, a nail file and one gorgeous full sized polish which in this calendar was a stunning red glitter perfect for Christmas. So if you’re a nail varnish junkie like myself then this is the perfect advent calendar for you.

jan6

Victoria’s Secret Fragrance Mists, Liglosses and Kiko Nail Varnishes

My next January Favourites are some of the presents I got for Christmas, in particular these Victoria’s Secret Fragrance Mists, in the new style bottles, in the scents Love Spell, Coconut Passion & Passion Struck. I have a lot VS Sprays in my collection but these are my first of the new bottle style and I absolutely love them. These are great layered on top of each other to create new and unique scents and they’re so reasonably priced at 3 for £20! I also got 2 of their lipglosses which also smell amazing and create a gorgeous glossy sheen on the lips. And it wouldn’t be Christmas without getting nail varnish, and these 3 bright Kiko Power Pro Lacquers are my favourite this month!

jan5

‘Cartier Love’ Style Bracelets

One of my absolute favourite things I have been loving recently are these Kylie Jenner inspired ‘Cartier Love’ replica bracelets. I bought these around a month ago and I have not taken them off since. Obviously these aren’t the real deal as I am not a millionaire! But I think these designer inspired bracelets look just as good as the real thing! These ranged from £3-20 and are all from either Amazon or Ebay, just search ‘love bracelets’.

jan3

Loreal Paris Sublime Bronze Summer Glow Lotion

My next favourite is this Loreal Paris gradual tan. This product is absolutely amazing and I am now on my 4th bottle in around 2 months! It is a gorgeous moisturising gradual tan which takes less than 2 minutes to apply, it doesn’t smell or feel sticky and it builds up a gorgeous natural tan after only 1 application. This is just as dark as my St Moritz with only 3-4 applications and it is so much easier to apply, it has well and truly converted me after using St Moritz for 4 years! I usually use the shade Medium, which is the darkest, but this Light one is the only one I had at home but it’s perfect if you prefer a lighter more natural subtle tan.

jan8

Missimo Disney Princess Party Playsuit-Asos

My next January favourite is this Disney pajama playsuit from Asos. I am obsessed with Disney so when I saw this I had to buy it as it is just so cute and colourful, and I love the playsuit style as I don’t have anything like this already. This was a little more than I’d usually spend on pajamas (£22) but they are so worth it! Check them out here.

jan4

Anya Lace Up Boots-Public Desire

The next thing I’ve been loving the past month is these Anya Lace Up Boots from Public Desire. These are so comfy and easy to wear and they go with both dressy and casual outfits so they are definitely a must-have staple in my wardrobe at the moment and I have been wearing them none-stop. Check them out here.

jan2

Max Factor Face Finity 3 in 1 & Sleek Highlighting Palette in Midas Touch

My 2 makeup favourites this past month have been the  Max Factor Face Finity 3 in 1 foundation which is said to be a primer, foundation and concealer all in 1. This is an amazing high coverage matte finish foundation which are definitely my preferred as I have quite oily, blemish prone skin. This is now the only foundation I use and it has even took the place of my all-time fave Revlon Colorstay as it is just so unbelievably good! I now have it in 3 different shades to suit how tanned I am and it is a bargain at only £10! My second makeup favourite is the Sleek Highlighter palette in Midas Touch, this contains 4 gorgeous, extremely pigmented highlighter shades suitable for any skin tone and occasion and in my opinion just as good and way more affordable than high-end highlighters, so would definitely recommend!

jan 1

Nyx Lipliner in Peekaboo

My final January Favourite is this Nyx Lipliner in the shade Peekaboo. I bought this lipliner after seeing it being used in a Youtube tutorial and I thought it was just a stunning nude/mauve shade that would go with a lot of my lipsticks. This has such a gorgeous smooth, creamy consistency and just glides on the lips so I will definitely be buying more of these lipliners!

And those are all the products I have been loving throughout the month of January. Let me know if you have tried any of these and what your January Favourites are and I’ll see you in my next post!

nailbox1

Rimmel Lasting Finish in Marshmallow Heaven

The first item in this month’s Nailbox is a Rimmel Lasting Finish polish in the shade ‘Marshmallow Heaven’ this is a really girly pastel lilac shade which would look gorgeous alone or perfect as a base for the next polish! I have used a few of Rimmel’s polishes before and they last ages on the nails so super excited to try this out!

nailbox3

Nails Inc Blossom in Bloomsbury Way

The next polish in the Nailbox is this absolutely stunning Nails Inc polish from their recent Blossom collection. This is a super new polish so I was very surprised and pleased to see this in this month’s box! This is a clear topcoat polish with opaque/matte pink, purple and blue round confetti pieces creating the appearance of flowers. I think this will be absolutely perfect for spring/summer and I can’t wait to try it out!

nailbox

Morgan Taylor in Best Ball Gown Ever

The final nail polish in December’s box is this gorgeous metallic/pearlescent purple polish by Morgan Taylor in the shade ‘Best Ball Gown Ever’. I have never used any Morgan Taylor polishes before but this one is a great one to start with as it is stunning!

Christmas/NYE Nail Haul!

nyw header

Hi Everyone! After taking quite a long break from my blog, whilst busy with work and life etc, I am back with a new post! As it is the festive period and NYE is tomorrow (ahh!) I thought it was only appropriate to do a little festive Christmas/NYE nail post showing you 5 amazing polishes I have purchased recently which are absolutely perfect for this time of year when you are after something a little more special and glam. If you are interested in seeing the 5 polishes I picked up from nailpolishdirect recently-carry on reading!

nye haul

L-R Color Club in Valedictorian, China Glaze in Brand Sparkin’ New Year, Cuccio in Illumination, China Glaze in I Soiree I Didn’t Do It & China Glaze in Coal Hands, Warm Heart

nyww

Color Club in Valedictorian

The first polish I picked up was Valedictorian by Color Club. I absolutely adore Color Club polishes as they are some of the most vibrant and unique polishes around and this is no exception! This polish is a gorgeous sheer blue base with large hexagonal blue and turquoise glitter pieces. This is such a statement polish and perfect for NYE!

nyw s

China Glaze in Brand Sparkin’ New Year

The second polish I bought was made for NYE-literaly! Brand Sparkin’ New Year is a stunning polish from China Glaze’s 2015 Cristmas Holiday Collection. China Glaze are known for their seasonal collections and often have the best Christmas/NYE polishes around, and this one may just be my favourite ever! This polish is a sheer purple base (so can be worn alone) with large and small pink and purple glitter pieces and is such a fresh take on the usual festive gold/red polishes usually around this time of year, absolutely love this one!

nyw

Cuccio in Illumination

Cuccio’s Illumination is the third polish i picked up from Nailpolishdirect and is just stunning! This is a holographic blue/silver pearlecent top coat which would look stunning over a blue, purple or white base for Christmas or New Year. This is my first Cuccio polish but I am obsessed and will definitely be buying more!

nywq

China Glaze in I Soiree I Didn’t Do It

I Soiree I Didn’t Do It is another polish from China Glaze’s 2015 Christmas Holiday Collection and again is another unusual colour for this time of year. This is a sheer turquoise polish so again can be worn on its own with very fine, micro turquoise glitter pieces which when built up create a textured effect which is perfect for Christmas as it almost has a frosty appearance.

nyeq

Cina Glaze in Coal Hands, Warm Heart

The final polish I purchased is yet another China Glaze one from this year’s festive collection. This one is in the shade Coal Hands, Warm Heart and is a very unusual polish and unlike any of my existing ones. It has an almost black sheer base with holographic pink/purple glitter. I think this one despite its name is better suited for NYE as it is a bit more daring!

nye a

Top to Bottom- Color Club in Valedictorian, Cuccio in Illumination, China Glaze in Coal Hands, Warm Heart, China Glaze in I Soiree I Didn’t Do It & China Glaze in Brand Sparkin’ New Year

And those are the 5 festive Christmas/NYE inspired polishes I picked up recently! Let me know in the comments below which you think I should wear tomorrow night and which one is your favourite! See you in my next post!

2 Simple Nail Looks Ft. Nails Inc Gel Effect

nail1

Hi Guys! Today’s post is 2 easy to create nail looks using 2 of Nails Inc’s Gel Effect polishes in the shades Soho Place & Regents Place. These are both absolutely stunning bright shades and I decided to team them up with glitter top coats for an extra-glam look, so if you’re interested in seeing the 2 simple looks I created-keep reading!

nail6

Nails Inc Gel Effect in Soho Place & Barry M Yellow Topaz Glitter

For the first nail look I decided to use the shade ‘Soho Place’ which is a gorgeous jade/pastel teal shade, and because it is from Nails Inc’s Gel Effect range it has a very high shine thick effect. I only needed two really light coats of this polish as the formula was so thick, but you would expect this from such a high-end nail brand, and it dried really quickly to a beautiful gel-like finish. I could have left it as it was as the colour is so eye-catching and vibrant but I wanted to add a little glitter to make it more special, and I felt gold would go perfectly with the green-toned shade. I decided to add Barry M’s ‘Yellow Topaz Glitter’ top coat to my nails, which is a clear top coat containing a mix of large and small gold holographic glitter pieces. I added a fairly light coat so not to cover the ‘Soho Place’ shade too much.

The Finished Look

The Finished Look

nail8 nail7 And this was the finished jade and gold glitter look! I think these 2 colours work amazingly together and complement each other more than a silver glitter would. I absolutely love the formula of the Nails Inc polish and I was excited to create my second look!

Nails Inc in Regents Place & Kardashian Beauty in Crush Coup De Coeur

Nails Inc Gel Effect in Regents Place & Kardashian Beauty in Crush Coup De Coeur

For the second nail look I decided to use another polish from Nails Inc’s Gel Effect collection, this time in the shade ‘Regents Place’. This polish is a really bright cornflower blue shade and like ‘Soho Place’ it dried to a gorgeous gel-like sheen. This again only needed 2 coats to obtain maximum opacity, and I decided to add a glitter top coat again to create a more girly, glam look. I decided that a holo silver would suit this cool, blue-toned shade more than gold so I picked out one from my collection. I decided to use Kardashian Beauty’s glitter top coat in the shade ‘Crush Coup De Coeur’ which is a holo hexagonal glitter top coat. Again I was very light-handed so not to cover the blue too much.

And this was the finished cornflower blue & silver glitter look! I love how bright yet girly this nail look is and how easy to create it was.

Both of these nail varnishes are from T K Maxx and were a fraction of the £14 RRP at only £3.99 each! So definitely check it out for reduced priced nail varnishes and beauty products! September Superdrug Haul: POPmodblog

sd header

Hi Everyone! Sorry I’ve been M.I.A the past few weeks I have been super busy with work and other things so unfortunately I have completely neglected my blog, but I am back and determined to post a few times a week! That being said what better way to get back into it than with a big beauty haul! So if you are interested in seeing what I have picked up from Superdrug recently-carry on reading!

Zoella Let's Spritz Body Spray

Zoella Let’s Spritz  Fragranced Body Mist

The first item I have picked up recently is this Zoella ‘Let’s Spritz’ Fragranced Body Mist. As a huge fan of Zoe Sugg’s YouTube channel I have been eyeing up her collections for a while now but wasn’t sure which item to go for, but after seeing a tester for this scent from her new Tutti Frutti collection I gave it a spray and I fell in love! It is the most gorgeous fruity berry smell and reminds me a lot of one of my all-time favourite perfumes (Escada Pacific Paradise) which has since been discontinued so I knew I had to get this! This is a great alternative to perfumes as it has a lot lighter and fresher scent and is a fraction of the price at only £8! Even if you aren’t a Zoella fan this body mist is definitely worth checking out!

SD BABYLIPS

Baby Lips in Sweet Apple & Melon Mania

The next two things I picked up from Superdrug were these newly released Baby Lips lip balms in the scents: Sweet Apple & Melon Mania. It’s no secret that I absolutely love Baby Lips and I already have quite an extensive collection but I couldn’t say no to these new scents! Sweet Apple has been specially designed for winter and it reminds me of spiced apple and Christmas time and leaves a gorgeous red sheen to the lips. Melon Mania is a fresh watermelon scent and the cute packaging reflects that, this leaves a more subtle wash of coral/red to the lips. These were around £2 each and are currently buy one get one half price at Superdrug!

Impulse Body Spray-XCX Vanilla Kisses

Impulse Body Spray-Charlie XCX Vanilla Kisses

Whenever I need a new body spray I always opt for Impulse as I find they are the nicest and most long lasting scents around. I have tried all of them in the past but I always go for the new ones whenever they are released, so I picked up this new Charlie XCX one in the scent ‘Vanilla Kisses’.  It, as the name suggests, is a very sweet vanilla scented spray but it isn’t overly heavy or sweet. I am not sure if this is limited edition but it was on sale for £1 which is a bargain!

Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit & Petal

Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit & Petal

I am absolutely obsessed with this next item! These are Sleek’s Matte Me lip glosses/stains and they are incredible! I originally went in looking for the shade ‘Birthday Suit’ as I have heard sooo many people rave about it, as it is a Velvet Teddy/’Your Lips But Better’ shade but it was out of stock so I decided upon ‘Petal’ which is a similar shade but more of a pink than brown toned nude. I absolutely fell in love with it, it goes on so smoothly and easily and dries to a matte finish which is non-drying and these last for hours! I tried my luck and went back in to Superdrug today and low and behold ‘Birthday Suit’ was FINALLY in stock so I snatched it up. These are so wonderfully pigmented and just amazing, can’t rate them enough. These are around £4/£5 each!

Collection Long Lasting Nail Effects in Strawberry Gold

It wouldn’t be one of my hauls without at least one nail varnish! So I picked up this Collection Long Lasting polish in the shade ‘Strawberry Gold’ this intrigued me as it looks bronze/gold in the bottle but the name suggests it is going to be red/pink. I swatched it and it is a really pretty rose gold/bronze shade with pink and gold glitter running throughout. This is a really unique and different shade so I’m happy I picked this up. This was around £3/£4.

Collection Matte Lip Butter in Vintage Rose

Collection Matte Lip Butter in Vintage Rose

The next item I bought is another from Collection, it is their Matt Lip Butter in the shade ‘Vintage Rose’, I am yet to try this but I absolutely loved the mauve/pink shade and I liked the fact it is matte like the Sleek lip glosses. I have a feeling from looking at it that this could be quite drying as it is a stick rather than a gloss/liquid but we shall see! This was £2.99 which is a bargain and comes in 4 different shades.

Max Factor Lipfinity in Stay Exclusive

Max Factor Lipfinity in Stay Exclusive

The final item I picked up was this new shade from Max Factor’s Lipfinity range in the colour ‘Stay Exclusive’, as you can see I have already used this a lot, and that’s because it is friggin’ amazing! It is the most perfect pink/nude/mauve shade that I have been searching for for months and I am obsessed. It is a bit on the pricey side at £8 but it is so worth it! The formula is amazing and long lasting and the colour is so pigmented!

And that is everything I have bought from Superdrug recently! Let me know in the comments which is your favourite product and if you have tried any of these!
